Why Kangana Ranaut's 'flagbearer of nepotism' comment about Karan Johar doesn't make sense! – Karan had offered this film to her. Guess Kangana has forgotten it!
Kangana Ranaut and Karan Johar
Kangana Ranaut was like a house on fire during her appearance on Koffee with Karan this season. While she was on the show with Rangoon co-star Saif Ali Khan, she hardly let him speak.
Kangana even called Karan the 'movie mafia' and 'the flagbearer of nepotism' in Bollywood. Karan who kept quiet on the show, maintaining his dignity has finally lashed out at Kangana at a recent event.
He said, "She was my guest, so I had to hear what she had to say. She has the right to have an opinion. When she says 'flag bearer of nepotism' I just want to say, I'm glad she knows what it all means. I don't think she's understood the entirety of that statement. Because what is Nepotism? Am I working with my nephews, nieces, daughters, sons? And what about those 15 filmmakers who are not from the film industry who I have launched and put into movies? That no one will talk about. When she said 'movie mafia' what did she mean? Because what does she think we're doing? Sitting and not giving her work? Is that what makes us mafia? No, we do that by choice…I do that because may be I'm not interested in working with her. That doesn't make me a movie mafia, it makes me a man with an opinion."
Interestingly, while Kangana claims that KJo's the flagbearer of nepotism, who only gives chances to starkids, we have to bring it to her notice that he had cast her in one of the films under his banner. Remember Ungli that released in 2015? Kangana played the lead heroine in the Dharma film. And let us also remind you that despite being the lead heroine, Kangana refused to promote the film. So should we call KJo the embodiment of nepotism or call Kangana an unprofessional actor? Think think!
