As Steve Smith won the toss in Ranchi and decided to bat first in the third Test against India on Thursday, his predecessor Michael Clarke was busy shooting an amusing video of what goes on in the commentary box.
The tour begins begins with Brett Lee, who is busy staring into his phone. The legendary fast-bowler, however, claims he’s “working hard with some stats”.
Clarke then moves on to Matthew Hayden, who is busy on a phone call. “Hayden’s just calling home one more time,” says Clarke.
Next to show up is the icon himself Sunil Gavaskar, who can be seen standing in the corner and munching on something. “Sunny is into the biscuits already. He loves the jim-jam,” jokes Clarke. The legendary opener then walks forward with a smile on his face and clarifies that he was only having some fruits. “Healthy Sunny,” exclaims Clarke.
Sanjay Manjrekar is next in line, sitting in a corner and reading something. “There’s the real boss of the commentary box. The man,” says Clarke with excitement. “That’s a lie,” Manjrekar replies calmly, as the two burst into a laugh.
The former Australian captain finally concludes the tour by introducing the technical team that provides all the incisive inputs to the commentators.
