Machester United continued their perfect start to the new Premier League season when they defeated Swansea 4-0 on Saturday. The scoreline matched their opening-day destruction of West Ham United.
Eric Bailly scored just before half time to give United the lead. The Red Devils dominated the second half as they scored thrice inside four minutes through Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.
Bailly slotted home in the 45th minute after Lukasz Fabianski had tipped a Pogba header onto the crossbar.
Romelu Lukaku then doubled the lead in the 80th minute with a left footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner.
Pogba the joined the fun as he put one just over Fabianski’s head after Henrikh Mkhitaryan has provided him with great assist.
Two minutes latrer, an attempted Swansea attack move broke allowing United to fly forward on a quick counter-attack. Lukaku did well to out-muscle his marker before spinning and finding Pogba, who then set up Martial to cut inside and slot a great strike into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
Despite raucous home support, Swansea seldom threatened in the absence of the departed Gylfi Sigurdsson the injured Fernando Llorente, always struggling to deal with United’s power and pace.
Jose Mourinho’s men had battered West Ham 4-0 at Old Trafford last Sunday in their opening game.
