Beautiful Desi girl Priyanka Chopra made headlines few days ago when TIME put the actress on its annual list of 100 most influential people.
But it wasn’t just a list she was included in, the 33-year-old actress was in fact one of the 6 most influential people to get a special edition cover to herself. The other five covers include Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicki Minaj, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, Christine Lagarde and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
No doubt, it was a proud moment to celebrate. But there were few critics who questioned PeeCee’s influence. So while the world celebrated Priyanka’s achievement and debated how influential she really is. We went a little behind the scenes to catch up with the stylist, Ted Gibson who was entrusted with the responsibility to give Priyanka Chopra the look that would say it all: who run the world. PeeCee!
In conversation with Ted Gibson, stylist to stars like Lupita Nyong’o, Ashley Greene, Jessica Chastain, Alicia Vikander to name a few. Ted has previously styled PeeCee when she made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
How was the experience like working with PC
Ted: She is amazing. What a great career she has had. Bollywood then Hollywood.
Tell us a bit about the look
Ted: It is a nod to the 60s. Think Sofia Loren!
What special did you do to get the right look
Ted: I started off with a volumizing mist all over the head and supersexy foaming mousse on mid lengths and ends. Blew dry with a medium, sized round brush with 1 inch sections. This is important if you want volume in hair. Then I used a large barrel curling iron and pinned to set. Unpinned, then brush out. I put in a center part then back combed the crown to create a slight bouffant then used a finishing spray

Ted: She is beautiful
What was your first reaction when you knew you were going to do her look?
Ted: I have been a fan since she won Miss Universe. I love the opportunity to make her a #gibsongirl
