knew the next day headlines would be ‘Aishwarya got upset’: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan reacts to her losing calm at media – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who lost her father Krishna Raj Rai last year, had decided to honour his love for children on his birth anniversary in November, 2017. The actress along with mom Vrinda Rai and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan was present at an NGO, for which she had decided to sponsor the surgeries of 100 children who were born with cleft lips.
On spotting the actress and others the paparazzi went into a frenzy of sorts, clicking their pictures incessantly and asking for bytes. Aishwarya had pleaded with them and requested them to stop the commotion since there were kids and there parents also present at the venue who were not used to the media frenzy.
She eventually turned teary-eyed and said, “Please stop it. You guys don’t know the work. This is not a premiere. This is not another public event. Please show some respect guys. What’s wrong with you all?”
Now, speaking about the said incident in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Aishwarya said, “It’s tough to explain. I understand what was happening at that moment – the media wanted bytes and photos. But several kids and their parents were in the room with not enough space. While I am familiar with the way things function, these kids and parents are not used to dealing with such excitement and got startled (with the media’s behavior). That’s when I spoke up.”
She added, “I knew the next day the headlines would be ‘Aishwarya got upset’. I’ve never been one to blame anybody and I don’t. I try to appeal to the humane nature of people in times like that.”
