
Super Actor Himesh Reshammiya starrer Teraa Surroor has joined the list of hit films of 2016. “Teraa Surroor” earned profits with its opening day box office collection and through the sale of music, satellite and other rights.
Shawn Arranha’s directorial film was made on a budget of ₹ 11 crore, which includes production cost of ₹ 6.5 crore and publicity and advertising cost of ₹ 4.5 crore. The film earned it’s cost of production even before the release.
“The producers have already recovered the film’s cost through sale of music, satellite and other rights. I’m equally confident that the audience will thoroughly enjoy this edge of the seat entertainer right from the word go owing to some great performances the pace of the film. I can proudly say that I’m very happy with the product,” Bollywood Hungama quoted director Shawn as saying.
Furthermore, the box office collection of the film adds to the profit amount. The film has earned ₹ 6.46 crore from its three-day box office run in India. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film enjoyed its box office run and the collection showed 16 percent growth in Saturday’s business and 23 percent growth in Sunday’s business.
“#TeraaSurroor Fri 1.79 cr, Sat 2.09 cr, Sun 2.58 cr. Total: ₹ 6.46 cr. Plus film due to controlled costs+recoveries [non-theatrical avenues],” trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the opening weekend box office collection of the film.
The Himesh starrer is the third film of the year to earn its production cost and make it to the hit zone.
