Here’a all that’s WRONG (and right) with ‘Machine’ song ‘Chatur Naar’ – The new ‘Machine’ track is catchy, but it won’t make your a** shake!

A music video for CID actor rejects – Daya (played by some actor named Eshan), Abhijeet (Dance India Dance’s Mayuresh) and Mustafa Burmawalla – start out with the famous Padosan catchphrase, updates it with a few car references and some 2010-relevant lingo.
It helps to have shots, cocktails and beer buckets on display (or probably consumption) as the ‘stars’ (tee hee) kickstart the action after DJ makes announcement: This will make your ass shake.
As if on cue, Kiara Advani dressed in metallic silver-blue outfit, twerks at the ruins of some fort overseas as the background dancers re-enact that infamous 90s pop-culture staple MTV Grind.
Aforementioned three actors melt into the crowd and it’s difficult to make out who’s in starring roles or why Kiara is being passed around from actor to actor.
Rapper Ikka makes all the right noises for those looking for a peppy track with nonsensical lyrics. Nakash Aziz and Shashaa Tirupati sing along for the ride. And then, the middle of the song, has some garbled nonsense as Mayuresh downs shot (where the beats sounds curiously close to ABCD2’s Happy Birthday rap portion.)
Padosan’s Chatur Naar was one of the film’s highlights – pitting Kishore Kumar’s voice for Sunil Dutt against Manna Dey’s voice for Mehmood. This Machine song has no such contrast (storywise or otherwise) and seems to be in the mix just for the sake of milking the recall of a classic.
