Deepika Padukone Speaks on Being ‘Excited’ For Her Wedding And How Om Shanti Om Made Her a Superstar – Deepika Padukone Reveals Her Feelings on Being a New Bride And Her Success Mantra
Deepika Padukone is arguably a superstar today. The actress is the reigning diva of Bollywood and has maintained this success since her debut film, Om Shanti Om, released in the year 2007. Deepika worked in many big-budget films and left her mark both at the Box Office and on audience’s hearts. Now, she is going to begin another beautiful phase of her life. Deepika is getting married to actor Ranveer Singh on November 14. When she looks back today, Deepika sees a lot of hardwork she did, opportunities she found and sacrifices she made to achieve all the love and success.
In an interview with India Today, Deepika Padukone opened up on many things personal and professional. She talked about how Om Shanti Om changed her life and what took her to the success that she enjoys currently. Deepika said, “Om Shanti Om put me on the map. It changed my life overnight. When I left Mumbai for the world premiere, people viewed me very differently. The minute I landed at immigration, I realised my life had changed”.
She then commented on her success mantra and said, “It (success) was a combination of being at the right place at the right time, talent, hard work, dedication, and sacrifices”.
Deepika is also going to be a new bride soon and she seems all excited for the same. While answering a question about her feelings on being a bride, Deepika blushed and said that she has always looked forward to her wedding like any other usual girl. She said, “I’m excited in the same way as I’m excited about signing my next film. Marriage is something that I’ve always looked forward to in my life, as would any other girl”.
Deepika’s father, Prakash Padukone, who was also present with the actress, spoke about the treatment she is given at home. When asked whether they (he and Deepika’s mother) give her the same superstar treatment she receives from the rest of the people, Mr. Padukone was quick to answer that Deepika is a normal girl when she’s at home. He reveals she doesn’t get any special treatment and in fact, she helps in washing dishes and making her own bed.
