Brutal takedown: Arnold Schwarzenegger blasts out troll who made fun of Special Olympics – Although the post has been deleted, people took screenshots and shared it on social media
Arnold Schwarzenegger seems to have taken his new role as a Facebook and Twitter star to a whole new level. Recently, the actor, who also served as the Governor of California for two terms, shared a video with members of the Special Olympics team.
Schwarzenegger praised the athletes participating at the 2017 event in Austria via a Facebook video. “These guys are an inspiration to me,” he said in a video that appears that it first appeared on Snapchat.
While the post garnered a lot of positive responses, one user commented that the Special Olympics didn’t make any sense.
“The Olympics are for the best athletes in the entire world to compete against each other to determine who is best,” they wrote. “Having retards competing is doing the opposite,” the person wrote.
Schwarzenegger didn’t hold back with his response, which he called a “teachable moment”. In a post, which was a direct reply to the individual, Schwarzenegger said, “As evil and stupid as this comment is, I’m not going to delete it or ban you (yet) because it’s a teachable moment. You have two possible paths ahead. Right now, I guarantee you that these athletes have more courage, compassion, brains and skill ― actually more of every positive human quality than you.
So take their path ― you could learn from them, and try to challenge yourself, to give back, to add something to the world. Or you can stay on your path, and keep being a sad pitiful jealous Internet troll who adds nothing to the world but mocks anyone who does out of small-minded jealousy.
I know that all you really want is attention so let me be clear. If you choose to keep going this way, no one will ever remember you,” Schwarzenegger replied.
While both comments, the one by the troll and by Schwarzenegger have since been deleted, a number of individuals took screenshots to highlight the epic takedown.
This isn’t the first time Schwarzenegger has been involved in a social media spat. He has in the past few months been engaged in a Twitter and Facebook war with US President Donald Trump.
It all began with Schwarzenegger talking about climate change and the dangers of it right after President Trump, during the run-up to the US Presidential elections, suggested that climate change was a hoax. The battle then went onto the drop in ratings for Celebrity Apprentice that was being hosted by Schwarzenegger. President Trump took to Twitter to make fun of the low ratings, and a few days later even said that Schwarzenegger didn’t quit, but was fired.
The Terminator actor didn’t take kindly to the remarks, and even suggested that he and the US President swap places because he felt that the people of America would at least ‘sleep better if he was in charge of the country’.
Appearing on The Michael Smerconish Program, the 69-year-old actor-turned-politician was asked why the president is so fixated on him to which he said, “I think he’s in love with me.”
