Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor‘s Luv Ranjan film delayed by a year after Deepika Padukone said ‘No’? – As per reports, Luv Ranjan’s upcoming directorial starring Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgn in the lead roles has been delayed by a year.
When the Luv Ranjan directorial with Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor was announced, there were reports making the rounds that Deepika Padukone is likely to play the female lead in the film. The rumours became stronger when Deepika was snapped with Ranbir while making their way out of Luv’s residence in Mumbai. Her fans instantly started the trend #NotMyDeepika as they didn’t want her to work with Luv, who has been accused of sexual misconduct.
During a recent conversation with Vogue India, Deepika was asked if she would work with someone who has been accused of sexual misconduct. To which she replied instantly, “No! I would not”. Now, after Deepika’s this confirmation, it seems like the film has been delayed by a year, as per reports in Mid Day.
Talking about it, a source stated to the tabloid, “According to the original plan, the film was expected to kick off this year. But the script is yet to be locked. Couple that with the lead actors’ choc-a-block schedule and the film has been pushed by a year now. Ranbir is busy with Brahmastra and then, Shamshera. Ajay, on his part, has a spate of films lined up including Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Bhuj: The Pride Of India and the football film.”
The source added, “Luv will utilise the time to finish the final draft and take it on floors by mid-2020. There is no truth to the allegations that the film has been shelved owing to his #MeToo complaint. Ranjan came clean on the matter and apologised for his said misconduct, citing that it was never his intent.”
Reportedly, the film was initially supposed to release during Christmas 2020.
