Look at pictures without accidentally liking them
The Instagram app will register a like if the device is not connected to to the Internet. By turning on Airplane Mode on your smartphone, you can help ensure that you never accidentally double tap your way into an awkward moment. Alternately, you can turn off WiFi and cellular data connectivity on your device.
Make you favourite filters appear first, hide filters you don't use
If you like only a few filters on Instagram, you can rearrange the filters to see them first. To do this, you will need to attempt to upload a photo first. When you are choosing filters in editing mode, keep swiping right in the filter options until you reach the end. Tap the Manage icon, from here you can rearrange the filters by pressing the three grey lines next to the filter and dragging it up or down.
To hide filters you don't like, follow the step listed above until you tap the Manage icon. From here, deselecting the checkboxes will cause the filters stop appearing.
Use Instagram as a standalone photo editor
You can use the editing options of Instagram without posting a photo. To do this you will have to turn on the "Save Original Photo" option in settings. You will also have to turn on Airplane Mode on your device or turn off your WiFi and data connecting.
Follow the same method as you would if you were uploading a photo normally. Tapping the ‘Share’ option and an error will appear and end the process. However, the photo will be saved in your gallery.
